Go Green as Richmond Celebrates Environment Week 2007

Richmond, BC – The City of Richmond will be exploring everything from bugs and slugs to biking during Canadian Environment Week – a tribute dedicated to giving attention to the many aspects of the environment and the benefits of environmental protection. Events take place from June 2 – 9.

In its sixth year of celebrating this important event, the City of Richmond will offer several activities, giving shrewd minds of all ages an opportunity to learn how to help make our planet a better place to live. By contributing a little time and effort, everyone can make a difference!

There are many fun and informative activities that will enable residents to enjoy their spectacular environment. The events are:

  • Slugfest
    • Richmond Nature Park on June 3 
  • Island City, by Bike Tour
    • Britannia Heritage Shipyard on June 3
  • Little Green Thumbs
    • West Richmond Community Centre on June 3
  • Backyard and Worm Composting
    • Composting Demonstration Garden on June 3
  • Waterwise Gardening
    • Waterwise Demonstration Garden on June 3
  • Kids Bug
    • Sea Island Community Centre on June 9
  • Winter Gardening
    • City Hall on June 9
  • Rainforest Story Time
    • Various dates and library locations
