Le Carnaval - Quebec’s French Culture Comes to Richmond

07 February 2007

Come and enjoy the City Centre Community Association’s winter celebration of French culture in Richmond at Le Carnaval on:

Date: Friday, February 9, 2007
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Richmond City Hall
located at 6911 No. 3 Road

Le Carnaval is a free outdoor winter celebration about connecting with the French culture of the Richmond community, similarly to the atmosphere and experiences of the Quebec Winter Carnaval. The entire family will enjoy activities such as face painting and dancing, Carnaval games, a fire juggling/comedy act, “bonhomme” hats to make, and amazing ice sculptures to view while enjoying hot dogs, hot chocolate and more.

The entertainment line-up includes the “Maple Man” making traditional “Tire sur la neige,” (maple syrup on snow), and teaching the crowd French-Canadian “jigg” dances, as well as on-stage performances by French Canadian artists.
