Richmond City Hall will be filled with the sights and sounds of the holiday season when the 7th Annual Winter Wonderland festival kicks off at the beginning of December.
“Winter Wonderland is a really beautiful sight to see,” says Linda Coyle, Co-Chair of Winter Wonderland. “It magically transforms city hall into a winter dream. It also helps raise money to provide important services to the Richmond community and, at the same time, provides fun for the entire family.”
Winter Wonderland, which is presented by the Richmond Sunset Rotary Club, will begin on
Date: Saturday, December 1, 2007 Time: Richmond’s Mayor and Councillors will be on hand for the official opening day “lighting” of the trees at 12:30 p.m. and the first two community Christmas concerts will be performed at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m Location: Galleria of Richmond City Hall

Six more weekend matinee performances are scheduled at the Galleria for everyone’s enjoyment. Various local community groups will entertain, with shows starting at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on December 8, 15 and 22. While the concerts are free of charge, attendees are encouraged to make monetary donations to support those groups in their ongoing operation.

- Aberdeen Centre
- The Butler Did It

Everyone is welcome to the Winter Wonderland festival to enjoy the free matinee concerts and admire the beautifully-decorated Christmas trees. The public can also cast votes for the “best-dressed” tree. Donations of non-perishable food items for the Richmond Food Bank are also encouraged.
This year, the Richmond Sunset Rotary Club will be supporting Richmond Youth Services Agency. Funds will be used for specific services that benefit at risk youth in the Richmond community.
This year’s festival is sponsored by the Vancouver International Airport Authority. Media sponsorship is provided by The Richmond Review, and the City of Richmond is a supporting partner.
There is still a need for individuals, businesses and community organizations to support this important charitable event by sponsoring a Winter Wonderland Christmas tree. Sponsors receive significant benefits in supporting this community event. For more information and details on tree sponsorship, call Linda Coyle at 604-220-6856.
