Cloudy Water Notice for November 27, 2007

23 November 2007

Metro Vancouver Watermain Contruction
On November 27, 2007 from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Metro Vancouver will isolate a portion of the Cambie-Richmond Main (between Oak Bridge and Bird Rd Ave.) to allow Metro Vancouver crews time to complete welding on the pipe line in preparation for further scheduled work. This is part of Metro Vancouver’s seismic upgrade work of the Cambie-Richmond water mains being conducted in March 2008.

This change in water flow may result in temporary:

  • cloudy water
  • discoloration

These impacts are purely aesthetic. The public is asked to either run taps until the water becomes clear or refrigerate drinking water ahead of time.

During this time the City of Richmond will conduct monitoring to ensure water quality. We appreciate your understanding throughout this time. Metro Vancouver is committed to ensuring high quality drinking water to residents and businesses in the Lower Mainland.

About water in Richmond:
Under normal operating conditions, drinking water is supplied by Metro Vancouver to Richmond from Vancouver. There are three major drinking water supply mains coming into west Richmond from Metro Vancouver. The Cambie-Richmond Main is one of them.
