Multifest Celebrates Richmond’s Diverse and Vibrant Community
09 August 2006
East Richmond Community Association will host its signature festival that truly embraces the identity of Richmond’s deeply intercultural community.
Date: Sunday, August 13, 2006
Time: 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Westside of King George Park
The celebration showcases a fantastic array of drummers, musicians, and dancers that draw inspiration from our community’s diverse cultural traditions. Similarly, the event highlights a large outdoor international food fair that will cater to the palates of the entire family.
“Multifest has a tradition of providing entertainment and activities for all ages, but especially children and youth,” says Donna Lee, Community Facility Programmer. “The Kidz Zone includes carnival games, face painting, an inflatable bouncy castle, story-telling, and a selection of arts and craft activities courtesy of the Richmond Art Truck. Children will also be able to cool off at the popular King George Waterpark, so don’t forget to bring your bathing suit.”
A number of community groups have also been invited to provide information on the numerous community facilities, programs, and services available in the area for individuals and groups of all cultural traditions.
East Richmond Community Association is committed to empowering community members to create a strong sense of community identity and pride within East Richmond. The Association facilitates healthy community programs, projects and partnerships that meet the community’s physical, social, cultural and spiritual needs.
