The Dinsmore Bridge has Been Temporarily Closed

04 October 2006

Shortly before 1 p.m. the bridge was struck by a truck travelling on River Road, which passes beneath the south end of the bridge.

Vancouver International Airport Authority engineers are performing a full assessment of structural damage and working to determine a plan for any necessary repairs. Currently, the Airport Authority expects the bridge will remain closed for at least several days.

Access to the bridge is closed at Elmbridge Way and Russ Baker Way. If you normally use the bridge, please choose an alternate route until further notice.

River Road, which had been temporarily closed after the accident, is now open to traffic.
