08 February 2006
98B-Line Centre Lanes Close: Bus Service Continues
The 98B-Line dedicated bus lanes on No. 3 Road, between Ackroyd Road and Bridgeport Road, will be closed effective Monday, February 13, 2006. The closure was originally scheduled for February 6, but has been delayed by one week.
Bus service during the construction:
- The 98B-Line transit service will be moved to the general traffic lanes going in both directions on No. 3 Road
- New bus stops for the 98-B Line have been established and will be located on the east and west sidewalks along No. 3 Road (see below)
- The new bus stops will be easily identifiable
- Coast Mountain Bus Company has added additional schedule times to maintain service reliability
- Some delays in transit may occur as well as some minor traffic diversions
The closure of the dedicated lanes is in preparation for the first of four stages of construction of the elevated Canada Line guideway, scheduled to begin later this month. Removal and reconfiguration of centre medians will occur to accommodate future northbound general vehicle and bus traffic.
