Fire Update for Residents of Canterbury Court
26 July 2006The following update is provided to the residents of 7751 Minoru Blvd., 7471 and 7431 Minoru Blvd affected by last night’s fire. This information will be updated as soon as new information becomes available. Please check back frequently or call the City’s Emergency line at 604.233.3333 for messages.
The City of Richmond, Richmond Fire Rescue, RCMP, Emergency Services and Century 21 Property Management Services are working together to provide you access to your property as quickly as possible. Buildings must first be inspected and secured to ensure a safe re-entry for all occupants.

An escort will provide residents emergency access to their suites for 5 minutes each to retrieve personal items. However, suites 303-314, inclusive, have received extensive fire and water damage creating unsafe conditions for re-occupancy. No access is permitted. Suites 202-207 and 102-107, inclusive, have suffered some water damage to drywall in ceilings, walls and personal property. The property management team is working to make these suites safe for emergency access. |
Residents of 7431 Blundell Road
Residents are allowed full access to their suites with no
restrictions as this building suffered no direct damage.
Emergency Social Services will be available at the Richmond Inn in Room 170 tonight, Wednesday, 26 July 2006 at 5:00 PM to support residents with temporary emergency services such as food and lodging. Residents who have insurance should contact their insurance agent to check their policy for coverage of temporary accommodations and other requirements.
