Asian Heritage Month 2006

08 March 2006

Call for Community Groups and Performers to Celebrate
Throughout May 2006, the City of Richmond will once again present explorAsian. A festival celebrating Pan-Asian arts and culture.  The month of May has been designated as Asian Heritage Month in Canada.  Asia is made up of over 50 different countries, all with their own unique culture, heritage and traditions.

Following on the success of previous year’s celebrations, the City is looking for a wide range of community groups interested in participating in events taking place at:

Richmond Cultural Centre
7700 Minoru Gate

Opportunities exist for visual arts displays, art demonstrations, dance and musical performances, poetry and literary readings, etc.

Richmond is diverse and proud of its vibrant multicultural community.  Appreciating and celebrating cultural diversity is a feature of our society that helps to promote cross-cultural understanding, harmony and citizenship.

Here is an exciting opportunity for you or your group to share your talent and cultural heritage with a wide audience and participate in Asian Heritage Month celebrations.
