Richmond Women’s Resource Centre Celebrates 30 Years

The Richmond Women’s Resource Centre is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a Reunion Fundraiser

This special evening includes stories, songs, refreshments, prizes and more. Guest Speaker and Richmond Councillor, Sue Halsey-Brandt will take the podium.

The Centre is a non-profit, volunteer organization run by and for women to improve their status in the community and society at large. They provide a range of free services for Richmond women including:
- Information and Referral
- English Conversation and Writing
- Single Parents Group
- Computer Training
- Peer Support and Advocacy (offered in English, French, Farsi, Cantonese and Mandarin)
The Centre was instrumental in planning and advocating for important community services such as Family Place and the Nova Transition House. More recently, the Centre helped address the issue of affordable housing in Richmond with its study, published in March 2003, entitled "Women, Poverty and Housing in Richmond" that included recommendations to City Council.
The Richmond Women’s Resource Centre is committed to providing a supportive environment for all women, regardless of race, culture, age, sexual orientation, religion, class or ability, so they can talk about various issues and contribute fully to society.
