July 28 - Fire Update for Residents of Canterbury Court

The following update is provided to the residents of 7751 Minoru Blvd., 7471 and 7431 Minoru Blvd affected by Tuesday, July 25, 2006 night’s fire.  This information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.  Please check back to the News and Events page frequently or call the City’s Emergency line at 604.233.3333 for messages.

The building is now safe for re-occupancy and residents can return home.

Residents of 7471 Blundell Road
Friday, July 28, 2006

7:00 AM Residents of the first floor will have full access to their suites to pack and move personal belongings and to bring in insurance adjusters.
Residents of the second floor can also have full access to their suites to pack and for insurance adjuster site visits, but the actual move out is to take place on Saturday, July 29.

Residents of 7431 Blundell Road
Residents are allowed full access to their suites with no restrictions, as this building suffered no direct damage.

Canada Post Mail Service
Canada Post has resumed regular service to Canterbury Court as of Thursday, July 27th.  Mailboxes will be delivered to those mailboxes that are accessible.  If your mail is not delivered, it can be picked up at the Canada Post Mail Depot at 7680 River Road in Richmond, located at the intersection of Cambie and River Road.  The hours of operations for this outlet are Monday to Friday, 8:30-2:30 PM.

Community Assistance
The Richmond community can help residents who lost their belongings by donating clothing and furniture to the Salvation Army thrift store on No.3 Road.  Monetary donations can go to Salvation Army family services at their Gilbert location, 8280 Gilbert Rd.
