Diversity Summer Volunteer Opportunity

The purpose of the position is to positively support participants who require extra assistance to participate in Summer Programs throughout Richmond. Volunteers will be part of a team that provides a safe, fun and enjoyable summer experience.
The qualifications we seek are:
- Experience working with children
- Interested in working with children/youths with Special Needs
- Mature and responsible (at least 16 years old)
- Some experience working in a team environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong communicator and willing to ask questions
- Flexible with location (may change from week to week)
- Preferable: Pre-leadership and First Aid courses
- Enjoy swimming
- Have patience
- Attend specialized training through Diversity Services
- Be a good role model and most importantly... Have Fun!!
The following time commitment is required:
June: One evening training session
July to August: Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
* Diversity Services would appreciate a minimum 2-week commitment.
