Volunteer Orientation Session
The City of Richmond’s Emergency Management Office is looking for new and enthusiastic Emergency Social Services (ESS) Volunteers. Emergency Social Services provides short-term assistance to residents who are forced to leave their homes due to fires, floods, earthquakes, chemical spills or other emergencies. This assistance includes food, lodging, clothing, emotional support and family reunification.

A volunteer orientation session will be held on Tuesday, October 4 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Richmond City Hall, Council Chambers.

This session is designed to give you an understanding of the roles and functions of ESS volunteers in the community. All volunteers will be required to complete a criminal records check and be willing to complete a wide variety of training. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Pre-registration is required by leaving a message on our 24-hour Emergency Management telephone line at 604-233-3333 or sending an e-mail to emergencyprograms@richmond.ca.
