City Staff Give to Help Others
More than 1,700 items of food were collected by City staff in a recent campaign to support the Richmond Food Bank.
The Food Bank’s need for food to serve its clients remains high all year long, but donations traditionally decline in summer months. City staff, led by a team from the Finance Department, decided to help out with an internal donation campaign that ran from August 29 to September 9. Members of the campaign organizing team are pictured here with the results.
The City of Richmond encourages all members of the community to help out the Richmond Food Bank with donations of non-perishable food items or cash. Some of the most commonly-needed items include: macaroni and cheese dinners, peanut butter, sugar and cereal, baby cereal and formula, tinned vegetables and fruits and tinned or powdered milk.
