Emergency Preparedness Week May 1-7, 2005

Each year, thousands of Canadian families face emergency situations that could change their lives forever.  As a result, the City of Richmond has planned a series of free workshops to help increase our community’s level of preparedness.  The City of Richmond’s Emergency Management Office presents:

Personal Emergency Preparedness – RN #27002
Learn how to prepare your home, family, or workplace for a major earthquake, flood or other disaster.  Cost is free

May 2 from 7 – 9 pm

Rapid Damage Assessment – Post Earthquake – RN #27004
Learn how to decide if your home, your business, or your building has become unsafe and how to access the help you need.  Cost is free

May 3 from 7 – 9 pm

Fire Suppression – RN #27006
Learn about fire safety at work and home, and get hands-on experience on how to operate a fire extinguisher.  Cost is free

May 4 from 7 – 9 pm

Emergency First Aid – RN #27008
An introductory first aid course dealing with life-threatening injuries.  Learn how to assess a scene, call for help, and give CPR and how to deal with bleeding.  Cost is free

Personal Emergency Preparedness in Chinese – RN #27010
The City of Richmond has partnered with S.U.C.C.E.S.S to provide the Personal Emergency preparedness workshop in Chinese.  Cost is free
