Mayor, Seven Incumbents Re-Elected in Richmond

Mayor Malcolm Brodie and seven incumbent Councillors have been re-elected to Richmond City Council. They will be joined on Council by new Councillor Elect Cynthia Chen. The results are now official.

Brodie has served as Richmond Mayor since being elected to that post in a 2001 by-election. He had previously served as a Councillor from 1996 to 2001. He outdistanced his sole challenger by about 14,000 votes.

Brodie will be joined on Council by the following re-elected incumbents:

  • Linda Barnes
  • Derek Dang
  • Evelina Halsey-Brandt
  • Sue Halsey-Brandt
  • Rob Howard
  • Bill McNulty
  • Harold Steves

Long time Councillor Kiichi Kumagai was not re-elected.

Incumbent School Trustees Chak Kwong Au, Sandra Bouque, Andy Hobbs and Linda McPhail,  have been re-elected to Richmond School Board. The other School Trustees will be Donna Sargent, Bobby Singh and Grace Tsang. Incumbent Trustees Debbie Tablotney and Patricia Whittaker were not re-elected.
