Richmond City Council to Hold Inaugural Meeting

Richmond’s City Council will be officially sworn in for a new term by the Honourable Madam Justice Kirsti Gill of the BC Supreme Court at an Inaugural Meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Richmond City Hall, 6911 No. 3 Road.

Newly elected Cynthia Chen will officially begin her term as a City Councillor, joining returning members Mayor Malcolm Brodie and Councillors Linda Barnes, Derek Dang, Evelina Halsey-Brandt, Sue Halsey-Brandt, Rob Howard, Bill McNulty and Harold Steves.

Mayor Malcolm Brodie will deliver an Inaugural Address and announce his appointments for Council Committees and various Council liaison positions.

The new Council will also choose Richmond’s representatives on the Greater Vancouver Regional District board and nominate a candidate for the board of TransLink.
