Engaging Citizens in Civic Affairs

Community Forum Planned
The Civic Education Society invites you to attend a Community Forum on Civic Engagement, Community Leadership and Innovative Programming. The goal of this forum is to bring together citizens and community leaders to discuss civic engagement and identify strategies to engage more residents of the City of Richmond in civic affairs:
Speakers will include:
- Michael Yue (President) Civic Education Society
- David Weber (Director) City Clerk’s Office and Chief Election Officer for the City of Richmond
- John Rose (Department of Geography) Kwantlen University College
Discussion topics will include:
- Defining and measuring civic engagement and participation
- Roles and responsibilities of City government community organizations and leaders in encouraging and facilitating civic engagement
- Development of new community leaders and movers of civic engagement and issues of programming, resources and partnership
