Interpretive Boat Tour
Saturday, October 8th, 8:45 a.m. - noon
The GVRD is planning an interpretive boat tour along the Fraser on the Thanksgiving weekend. Looking for a new way to explore the GVRD's regional parks? Sign up for this specially chartered boat trip along the historic Fraser River between Steveston and Annacis Island. We will be looking at the shoreline, nature, industry, and charming houseboat communities along the river in Richmond and Delta.
Settle into your cushioned seat on Steveston Seabreeze Adventures' covered boat and enjoy the scenery as you learn about the significance of this waterway to the nature and economy of our region. Watch the water for seals feeding on returning salmon. Journey around estuarine mashes looking for grebes and cormorants. Sail past charming fishing villages and secluded houseboat communities and hear how the Fraser connects these communities together. Pass by massive freighters and working docklands and witness modern uses of this ancient transportation route. Enjoy passing by rarely seen GVRD parks.
