City of Richmond Unveils Website Redesign
The City of Richmond has launched its newly redesigned website.
The new site has been designed to be more user friendly. Site content has been organized under new topic headings, and included quicklinks to popular information. The new navigation system, with fly out menus on the second level, will make it easier for users to see what’s on the site and navigate quickly to topics of interest. In addition, users also have the option of using a site map for any main topic area as an alternative navigation tool.
There are several new innovations incorporated into the site, for example the new parks database which was designed to provide detailed and easily updated, searchable content for the website will also serve the operational needs of the Parks Department. In addition, the re-launch also incorporates introduction of the new Ironpoint Content Management System, a browser based database system which will provide improvements in staff efficiency in maintaining and upgrading the website and help ensure information on the website remains current.
The launch of the new website also marks the official introduction of a new, shorter, and easier to remember, website address: www.richmond.ca
The new site was developed after extensive consultation with internal and external user groups.
The City wishes to thank those who completed customer surveys and provided feedback during the redesign process. Comments or questions on the new site are welcome via the Customer Feedback form on the website. Click the second last box for website comments.
