Community Groups and Performers to Celebrate in the City
Throughout the month of May 2005, the City of Richmond will once again present explorAsian, a festival celebrating Pan-Asian arts and culture. The month of May has been designated as Asian Heritage Month in Canada.
Following on the success of last year’s celebrations, the City is looking for a wide range of community groups to participate in events taking place at the Richmond Cultural Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate. Opportunities exist for visual arts displays, art demonstrations, dance and musical performances, poetry and literary readings, etc.
Richmond is diverse and proud of its vibrant multicultural community. Appreciating and celebrating cultural diversity is a feature of our society that helps to promote cross-cultural understanding, harmony and citizenship.
Here is an exciting opportunity for you or your group to share your talent and cultural heritage with a wide audience and participate in Asian Heritage Month celebrations.
