Oval Site Construction
The City of Richmond was awarded the rights to build the Richmond Olympic Oval in August 2004 by the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (VANOC).
Site preparation began in September 2005, with actual structural construction beginning in the fall of 2006. The building was completed on time and on budget and officially opened in December of 2008.
The time lapse video below records the construction process as viewed by still cameras mounted above the site.
