Accessibility

Richmond's venues, including the Richmond Olympic Oval and the Richmond O Zone site are fully accessible.

Richmond Olympic Oval
All venues have been reviewed for accessibility including consideration for persons who are visually impaired, blind, who have hearing loss, deaf, as well as mobility and/or agility impairments.  

If you have a specific need, see the nearest staff member or volunteer for assistance.

Parking
There is no parking at the Oval. See the Park and Ride page for alternatives. Also, Translink will provide shuttle service for people with disabilities from the Canada Line Bridgeport Station to the Richmond Olympic Oval. Note the black line on the Translink map runs from Bridgeport Station to the site.

Richmond O Zone Celebration Site
The O Zone is a 60-acre site  in the City Centre with both indoor and outdoor activities.

The Richmond O Zone site will be fully accessible for all users. 

Parking
Parking is available at the Minoru Aquatic Centre parking lot for users with a disabled parking decal. See the Transportation Plan Map below.

Drop Off Zones
Designated drop off locations are available within a short distance from the
O Zone’s public entry gates at:

  • Westbound lane of Granville Avenue between No. 3 Road and Gilbert Road
  • Northbound lane of Gilbert Road between Azure Road South and the tennis court entrance
  • Southbound lane of Minoru Boulevard between the mall entrance adjacent to Sears and the crosswalk north of Minoru Gate

There is a raised viewing platform for wheelchairs on the field in front of the Main Stage in Minoru Park.

Richmond City Hall and other civic facilities within the O Zone are fully accessible. The majority of outdoor areas are hard, level surfaces.

Enhancements have been made to a number of outdoor program areas to ensure accessibility.

Accessible washroom facilities are available at a number of locations on site.

Disabled Parking Decals
Vehicles using designated parking area must display the SPARC card issued to people with disabilities. 

Transit
It is recommended that visitors try to use accessible public transit to access the O Zone. The Canada Line at Brighouse Station is about one and a half blocks from the No. 3 Road gate at City Hall.  Local busses are also accessible and make stops near the site.
