Volunteer Opportunities
The Richmond Museum welcomes individuals interested in volunteering. There are numerous different areas in the Museum where volunteers can participate:
School Programs
Vounteers are involved in leading interpretive school programs at various City-owned sites. School programs include: “The Voyage to the Dragon’s Pearl” (exploring the lives of early Japanese and Chinese immigrants to Richmond), “Let’s Celebrate Winter” (a multicultural approach to the winter holiday season), “Food for Thought” (an agricultural program based at London Farm).

Public Programs
Volunteers assist staff with set up for lectures, workshops and tours. Such events include museum openings where the volunteer will assist in making coffee and serving and overseeing refreshments, putting chairs out for lectures, greeting visitors, preparing and assisting with workshops

Outreach/Special Events
Volunteers assist staff in the delivery of hands-on activities, interpretation, public relations of programs and events in and around Richmond. Such programs include teaching a craft to the public, giving out promotional material, representing and talking about the Museum to the visiting public.

Exhibit Assistant
Assist staff with the installation of Museum exhibits. Exhibits change four times a year. Volunteers would help in building exhibit displays, preparing cases for artifacts and helping with the mounting and preparation of photographic and textual material.
