Interpretive Programs
Enjoy interactive and curriculum-based activities that promote critical thinking and creativity. All programs are 90 minutes in length and $4/student (minimum charge of $80)

Food For Thought: Life at London Farm
Experience first-hand what life was like for early farming pioneers through "Farmer Training".

  • Collect eggs and water - two common chores at London Farm
  • Play farmer jeopardy to test farming IQ
  • Analyze soil to determine proper growing conditions for crops
  • Receive a special farming souvenir to take back to school

Life in Sutebusuton
Travel back in time and explore what life was like for Japanese Canadians in Steveston in the early 1900's.

  • Meet the members of the Murakami family through an instructor-led role-play
  • Explore the Murakami House and discover what life was like for the Murakami family in the 1930's
  • Discover Japanese-Canadian culture through an object-based activity
  • Play a Japanese children's game, otedama

Education Kits 
Bring the museum into your classroom. These curriculum-based kits are filled with artifacts and activities for use in your classroom. Materials are adaptable for all ages and levels of English unless otherwise specified. Cost: All kits are $45 for a 3 week loan.

Developed in partnership with the Musqueam. Wooden receptacle specially designed by a Musqueam artist.

Urban Packers: An Interpretive Walk through Steveston
Explorateurs Urbains (French Immersion) also available.
Rent out a set of backpacks and unpack the diverse layers of Steveston's history through its architecture, culture/community, economy, transportation, and geography/environment.
