Fire Prevention

Enforce the requirements of the B.C. Fire Code, City Bylaws and the B.C. Fire Services Act.
Conduct fire prevention inspections for all occupancies within the City, with the exception of single family dwellings, duplexes and townhouses.
Investigate all fires for fire cause determination and report all fires to the Provincial Fire Commissioner.
Deliver community based fire safety and prevention programs to reduce loss of life, property damage and to prevent injuries as a result of fires.
