Arenas, Aquatics and Fitness

Arenas services are responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of two arena facilities. Minoru Arenas has two regulation size ice rinks (200' by 85'), concession, skate rentals, change rooms and a meeting room. Dry floor opportunities are available in the spring and summer. Richmond Ice Centre has six regulation size ice rinks (200' by 85'). The facility also has 24 dressing rooms, 2 meeting rooms, and Stanley's Bar and Grill. Year round ice is available and dry floor opportunities are available in the summer. Learn to skate programs, public skating and ice/floor rentals are available at both facilities.

Richmond has four aquatic facilities; two of which are indoor facilities and two are outdoor seasonal pools. Minoru Aquatic Centre amenities include a 25 metre pool, 30 metre pool, a warm teach pool and whirlpools, sauna and a exercise gym. Watermania provides complete aquatic and fitness experience under one roof. Amenities include a 57 metre competition pool, spring boards and dive tower, wave pool with interactive waterplay features, waterslides, whirlpools, steam room, sauna and a 3,000 sq ft. fitness centre. Program offerings include a variety of daily public swim sessions, aquasize and aerobics classes, as well as swim lessons for beginners through to advanced training for lifeguarding and instructor certification. Two swim clubs practice out of the aquatic facilities year round.

A wide variety of physical activity and wellness opportunities offered in Richmond are designed to promote active living in our community. The Fitness Wellness Coordinator is responsible for providing specialized activity programs and also serves as a resource person for the Fitness Coordinators at Cambie, South Arm, Steveston, Thompson and West Richmond Community Centre as well as Watermania. Together, they provide programs and services that enhance the quality of life of Richmond residents.
