Health Authority Liaison
The City maintains communication with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority through the Intergovernmental Relations section. The newly structured Authority is a voluntary, citizen based committee appointed by the Provincial Government to ensure the provision of health care services in the Vancouver, Richmond, North Shore, and Coast Garibaldi Health Regions.
The Authority directs the integration of health services and agencies to create a "more efficient, cost effective, accessible, and relevant system of care" both for residents and those who travel to the region for care.
