City Departments Overview
Business and Financial Services
Provides business development and liaison services, as well as financial planning and management, tax an revenue collection  budget accounting and real estate services.

Corporate Services
The Corporate Services Department is responsible for the provision of corporate services to City Council, the staff, and the public through the following Divisions: City Clerk's Office, Human Resources, Information Technology, Customer Services, and Communications and Public Affairs.

Engineering and Public Works
Provides engineering design, construction and maintenance services for the City's infrastructure and all City owned buildings.
Delivers and maintains the local water supply, as well as sewer and drainage, dykes and irrigation system.

Law & Community Safety
The Law and Community Safety Department brings together the City's public safety providers including police, fire-rescue, and emergency services, along with sections responsible for bylaw enforcement and for legal and regulatory matters.

Olympic Business Office & Major Projects
The Olympic Business Office & Major Projects Department oversees all aspects of the City of Richmond's involvement in the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including coordination and support for the Richmond Oval site which will host the long track speed skating competition for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The Department is also responsible for project management of the technical, design and construction aspects of the City's major projects, including Canada Line and the Richmond Oval, Garden City Lands and other initiatives.

Parks Recreation and Cultural Services
Works to ensure the provision of Recreation and Cultural opportunities and manages City owned recreational and cultural facilities.
Overseas the design, construction, and maintenance of City parks, trails and green spaces, the fostering of civic beautification initiatives and coordinating sports programming and special events in the City's parks.

Planning & Development
The Planning & Development Department is responsible for issues and services affecting the physical form of the City, including design, building and construction, development, land use, traffic and transportation, and social planning.
