Engineering Planning
The Engineering Planning section is responsible for Current Engineering Planning, Long Range Engineering Planning, the Geographic Information System (GIS), and Drafting.
Current Engineering Planning
The design review and approval of all engineering drawings pertaining to land development applications, private utility designs, the administration of Local Improvement Petitions (LIP) and ditch infill applications.
Long Range Engineering Planning
Developing, budgeting, and maintaining the long term infrastructure planning for all underground utilities (storm drainage, water and sanitary), including private utilities (Telus, B.C. Hydro, Terasen Gas, etc.).
Participating in the development and maintainence of the corporate GIS. Administering the Engineering Department's digital information database relating to the legal cadastral, street lighting, street trees and all underground utilities.
Drafting
Providing drafting support to the Design & Construction section as well as other internal divisions, maintains over 20,000 engineering record drawings, maps and digital drafting standards for the Engineering Department.
