Please add $5.00 to cover postage and handling on orders under $50. Photograph Reproduction Services
The City of Richmond Archives online photograph catalogue contains more than the 7,500 historical images that document the people, events, and places of the community of Richmond from the late 1800s to modern times. Images are subject to the Copyright Act of Canada. They are provided on this website for research purposes only. Re-use requires written permission and may be subject to fees.
Reproductions of these photographs in both print and digital form are available for purchase and use according to specific terms and conditions. Fees and prices vary according to usage and type of reproduction. Photograph reproduction orders cannot be processed until a signed Conditions of Use Agreement has been received by the City of Richmond Archives.

Special Photographic Services
Our photograph orders are processed by a custom lab which can handle a wide variety of special orders including: mural sized prints, sepia toning, fibre-based prints, prints to custom size, mounting, multiple prints (from one negative), etc. These special services may require longer lab time to process. Contact the Archives for pricing on special services.
Terms and Conditions
Permission
In purchasing a print, the researcher obtains permission for personal use only. Permission is not granted for further reproduction or for use other than that specified in the original photograph order.
Publication Credits
We require that all City of Richmond Archives photographs that are published include acredit as to the source of the photograph as in the following example: "City of Richmond Archives, Photograph #1234 56 78."
Commercial Use Fee
Commercial use of reproductions from the Archives may be arranged provided that a written proposal is submitted to the City Archivist stating details of the intended commercial use and specific identification of the materials involved. The City of Richmond Archives reserves the right to refuse permission as well as the right to charge commercial use permission fees.
ARCHIVES Online
For Use With INMAGIC Plus or Inmagic DB/TextWorks
ARCHIVES Online is an after-market database application based on the system developed at the City of Richmond Archives. ARCHIVES Online uses the Rules For Archival Description (RAD) and the General International Standard for Archival Description (ISAD(G)) as data content standards and Inmagic software to produce an online system for archival descriptions.
ARCHIVES Online includes a detailed procedures manual and two ready-to-use Inmagic DB/TextWorks databases: an ACCESSIONS Database, and a DESCRIPTIONS Database.
For each database, ARCHIVES Online provides: a data structure, detailed instructions for each field, search menus, display/report formats, a sample database, and pointers, tips and illustrative notes.
